Brian Sorensen has signed a new two-year contract at Everton as their Women’s Team manager until June 2027.

Sorensen previously signed a new two-year contract in April 2024 until the end of next season but the Toffees have swooped to tie him down to a fresh two-year contract until June 2027.

“I am super happy and excited to sign this contract,” explained Sorensen to evertontv as he spoke of his family feeling settled in Liverpool and at the club.

“My family are really settled in the city and I am at the Club. I am looking forward at what’s to come. I love coming into Finch Farm every day, so it’s brilliant to extend my stay here.”

Sorensen also spoke of the need for “stability” and “consistency” to progress further up the Women’s Super League table, where they currently sit eighth.

“I have spoken to our owners and we want stability and to try to create consistency in what we are doing. Putting together a very competitive squad is the first aim for the summer. Then, secondly, making sure we build our staff and performance around it at Finch Farm every day.

“When we put all of that together, let’s see where it can take us. I’m very confident we are in a project heading in the right way.”

The Danish manager also praised his players for their efforts to “buy” into his style of play despite dealing with injury issues in the first half of the season.

“We want to be known for being one of the most dynamic teams in the league, both on and off the ball,” continued Sorensen.

“We saw after Christmas, when we started to have more of our squad available, we had the building stones in place to really get some good results.

“This year we have really closed the gap on the top teams. It brings belief and confidence in what we are doing. With an even better squad coming in next season and learning from this one, I think we are in a good place to see if we can close that gap even more.”
