Roundup of a huge matchweek of Premier League action before November’s international break.

Mohamed Salah set up Darwin Nunez then netted himself to keep Liverpool top of the table with a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa.

Manchester City slipped five points behind in second as Brighton’s 2-1 comeback win condemned them to a rare fourth straight defeat, in which Joao Pedro cancelled out Erling Haaland’s goal then set up Matt O’Riley’s winner.

Chelsea and Arsenal sit third and fourth after they played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, in which Gabriel Martinelli’s effort for the Gunners was cancelled out by Pedro Neto’s 25-yard equaliser.

Nottingham Forest rounded out the top five despite a 3-1 home loss to Newcastle, having led through Murillo’s header before Alexander Isak, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes completed the Magpies’ second-half comeback.

Down in the relegation zone, Wolves moved off the foot of the table at Southampton’s expense with a 2-0 win at Molineux, with Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha on the scoresheet.

Ipswich climbed out of the bottom three with a shock 2-1 win at Tottenham, as Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap’s goals fired them to a first top-flight win since April 2002 despite Rodrigo Bentancur’s consolatory goal for Spurs.

Crystal Palace consequently slipped to third-bottom with a 3-0 home loss to Fulham, albeit with ten men due to Daichi Kamada’s red card amidst Emile Smith Rowe’s brace and Harry Wilson’s goal for the Cottagers.
