2024-25 Premier League: Week 12 – Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth host Brighton at the Vitality Stadium in a huge Premier League clash.

Victory could see Bournemouth climb as high as seventh depending upon results elsewhere, whilst Brighton can go third with a win if results elsewhere swing in their favour.

Team News

Dango Ouattara is set to return for Bournemouth following his recovery from an adductor injury.

Antoine Semenyo (tendon) is a doubt but Julian Araujo (hamstring) is ruled out.

Luis Sinisterra (hamstring) and Alex Scott (knee) remain absent.

Brighton could be without Ferdi Kadioglu due to a toe injury which saw him withdraw from Turkey’s squad in the international break.

Carlos Baleba, Jack Hinshelwood (both knee), Lewis Dunk, Tariq Lamptey (both calf) and Yasin Ayari (ankle) face late fitness checks.

Solly March (knee), James Milner and Adam Webster (both hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Brighton at Vitality Stadium on Saturday 23 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bournemouth have won three of their last seven meetings against Brighton (W3, L4).
  • Brighton have won one of their five Premier League trips to Bournemouth (W1, L4).
  • In 10 previous Premier League meetings between Bournemouth and Brighton, neither team have been awarded a penalty.
  • Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo have scored in two of Bournemouth’s last three home games.
  • Brighton’s four away goals in their last three away games have all been scored in the second half.

Prediction

Sat firmly in mid-table after some impressive performances in the past month, Bournemouth now need to continue that momentum and produce a reaction to their unlucky defeat at Brentford where small errors were the difference.

Brighton meanwhile delivered a brilliant comeback to beat Manchester City through gritty defending and clinical second-half play, but need to show more consistent intensity across both halves.

Both teams nevertheless are currently in strong attacking form so I do expect a tough but entertaining battle, albeit with both teams sharing the points.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Brighton

Result: Bournemouth 1-2 Brighton
