BBC and ITV have agreed a UK broadcast deal for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
England have qualified for the major tournament where they will seek to defend their title won on home soil in 2022, but they will this time head to Switzerland for their title defence between 2-27 July.
BBC were thought to have retained exclusive coverage of the tournament as was the case in 2022, but have now agreed a split deal with ITV for next summer’s edition.
This deal will work in a similar format to that of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup which both broadcasters shared coverage of, with BBC having half of the games and ITV showing the other matches – although both will show the Final.
BBC Sport Director, Alex Kay-Jelski is delighted that the broadcaster has retained their coverage under this new deal, with ITV now set to broadcast the tournament for the first time.
“BBC Sport has been a long-time supporter of the women’s game and the BBC is committed to bringing the nation together for the biggest sporting moments.
“We’re excited that we can bring another major tournament to audiences next summer across the BBC.”
ITV Director of Sport, Niall Sloane meanwhile is excited that the broadcaster can build upon “the success of the Women’s World Cup last year, which drew big audiences to ITV across the tournament,” with this deal.
“Viewers who follow ITV’s coverage of England Women can now expect to see live, free to air action and analysis on our platforms next summer.”
Live coverage will be available across BBC and ITV, with BBC iPlayer and ITVX streaming their broadcaster’s selected games plus highlights.
BBC will also have UK Radio rights for the tournament across BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra.
