Midfielder, Matt Crooks has signed a new two-year contract at Hull City until June 2028.

Crooks’ arrival comes 19 months after he joined the Tigers in January 2025 and he has since produced eight goals and five assists in 54 appearances, plus was part of last season’s promotion-winning squad via the Championship Play-Offs after they snatched sixth day on the final day of the regular season.

Hull have now agreed terms with the 32-year-old on a new two-year contract until June 2028 with a further option to extend for a further year.

Crooks has described his new contract as a “great” move as he quipped that he wanted to extend his stay on Humberside more than the club.

“There was more push from me than there was from the club to be fair!

“I have had a great time here so far, getting to know all the lads, the staff and the people around the place. I haven’t got anything but good things to say. It’s been successful and long may it continue.

“We’re a real tight-knit group and we’ve had more additions this year, but we still have a good core and the new additions have been great so far. From my side of things, it was a no-brainer!”

Crooks proceeded to add that the last year-and-a-half felt like the best football in his career and winning promotion was a personal highlight.

“The last 18 months and especially the last 12 months are some of the best I have had in football. Last season was a real high for me and for the club in general. On a personal note, it was probably the best moment in my career.

“The supporters have been great with the team and with me as well. I now just want to help the team the best I can, in any which way I can. It is something to enjoy; the privilege and pressure of playing in the Premier League.”

John Egan too has signed a two-year contract with option for a further year, whilst Mohamed Belloumi and Charlie Hughes have penned three-year contracts until June 2029 with an option to extend for a further year.
