Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah has received a maiden senior call-up for England’s UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine and friendly against Scotland.
Nketiah has impressed with two goals in Arsenal’s first three matches which proved enough for manager, Gareth Southgate to call him up to the senior squad for the first time.
Southgate has otherwise named an unchanged attack with Harry Kane and James Maddison amongst those who have retained their places in the squad.
Tyrone Mings and John Stones miss out in defence through injury and have been replaced by Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell and Levi Colwill, with the latter receiving his first official call-up after he previously trained and travelled with the squad for their away win against Malta in June.
Luke Shaw meanwhile has been dropped as AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori receives a recall to the squad for the first time in 12 months.
Southgate has named an unchanged midfield with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham amongst those called up for the squad.
Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford and Aaron Ramsdale have again been called up in Southgate’s goalkeeping selection.
England will play Ukraine away at Stadion Wroclaw, Wroclaw, Poland at 6pm CET (5pm UK Time) on 9 September, before visiting Scotland at Hampden Park, Glasgow, on 12 September at 7:45pm BST in a friendly.
