Sheffield United welcome Everton to Bramall Lane as both teams chase a first league win of the season.
Victory would see Sheffield Utd move up as high as 14th position, whilst Everton will move out of the relegation zone with a win.
Team News
Ben Osborn is ruled out for Sheffield Utd after he suffered a groin injury during their defeat against Manchester City last weekend.
Rhys Norrington-Davies (hamstring), Max Lowe (ankle), John Fleck (leg), Daniel Jebbison (groin) and Rhian Brewster (hamstring) are also sidelined.
Everton could again be without Vitaliy Mykolenko after he suffered a knock during their midweek Carabao Cup win at Doncaster Rovers.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (cheekbone) is a doubt but Andre Gomes (calf), Alex Iwobi (hamstring), Jack Harrison, Dele Alli (both hip), Dwight McNeil (ankle) and Seamus Coleman (knee) are ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Sheffield Utd host Everton in a 12:30pm BST kick-off at Bramall Lane on Saturday 2 September live on TNT Sport in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Sheffield Utd have won just two of their last eight league meetings against Everton (W2, D2, L4).
- Everton are unbeaten in five of their last seven league visits to Sheffield Utd (W3, D2, L2).
- Each of the last three meetings between Sheffield Utd and Everton have been settled by 1-0 result, with the Toffees winning twice to Utd’s one win.
- William Osula has been booked in each of Sheffield Utd’s two home matches in the Premier League this season (L2).
- Defeat would see Everton lose four straight league matches for the first time since February-March 2022.
Prediction
With the task of getting even a point against Man City having looked an impossible task, Sheffield Utd certainly mounted a gutsy defensive effort but two clinical goals proved the difference – even despite an excellent well-worked equaliser from Jayden Bogle.
Everton meanwhile will be relieved to have finally found their scoring boots after coming from behind to beat Doncaster in midweek, yet their defensive ability to cope with crosses is still a concern which is something that Sheffield Utd should look to capitalise upon.
Bramall Lane though has often tended to favour the Toffees so their midweek comeback might just of been the spark needed, although I do expect Sheffield Utd to snatch something if can put their own difficult midweek performance behind them after losing to Lincoln City on penalties.
Prediction: Sheffield United 1-1 Everton
Result: Sheffield United 2-2 Everton
