Down in the relegation zone, rock-bottom Southampton’s relegation was confirmed following a 2-0 home defeat against Fulham, in which Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandar Mitrovic struck after half-time for the Cottagers.
Leicester’s survival hopes took a massive blow in a 3-0 home defeat against Liverpool, with Curtis Jones striking twice before Trent Alexander-Arnold wrapped up the away win as Mohamed Salah provided all three assists.
Nottingham Forest remain in 16th position but three points clear of the drop following a 2-2 draw at Chelsea, in which Taiwo Awoniyi and Raheem Sterling both scored twice respectively for their teams.

Elsewhere, goals from Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz saw Aston Villa beat seventh-placed Tottenham 2-1 to move level on 57 points, albeit separated by a two-goal goal difference swing in Spurs’ favour.
Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa saw Brentford defeat cross-London rivals, West Ham 2-0 at Gtech Community Stadium, which guaranteed a top-half finish for the Bees in their 100th victory under Head Coach – Thomas Frank.
Finally, Eberechi Eze struck twice as Crystal Palace defeated Bournemouth in a clinical 2-0 home win at Selhurst Park.
