Roundup of a dramatic Coronation matchweek which saw more twists across the table.

Ilkay Gundogan’s first-half brace saw Man City defeat Leeds 2-1 to stay top, despite Rodrigo netting a late consolatory goal in Sam Allardyce’s first match in charge of the Yorkshire club.

Arsenal remain one point behind in second place following a 2-0 win at third-placed Newcastle, in which Martin Odegaard rifled in a stunning long-range strike then Fabian Schar deflected Gabriel Martinelli’s cross into his own net to wrap up the visitors’ victory.

Manchester United remain fourth after losing 1-0 at West Ham through David De Gea’s fumbled save of Said Benrahma’s 27th minute shot which landed in his own net.

Liverpool moved to within one point of the top four following Mohamed Salah’s close-range 13th minute winner against Brentford at Anfield.

Down in the relegation zone, Aboudoulaye Doucoure and Dwight McNeil both struck twice as Everton thrashed seventh-placed Brighton 5-1 at the AMEX Stadium, which lifted Sean Dyche’s Toffees out of the relegation zone at Leeds’ expense.

Danilo struck for the third consecutive match and Taiwo Awoniyi scored twice as Nottingham Forest saw off rock-bottom Southampton 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at the City Ground, which lifted Steve Cooper’s men out of the bottom three.

Leicester consequently slipped into the drop zone but above Leeds on goal difference after losing 5-3 at Fulham, as Willian and Tom Cairney both scored twice for the Cottagers whilst Harvey Barnes delivered a brace for Dean Smith’s struggling Foxes.

Elsewhere, Chelsea ended a six-match winless streak in all competitions with a 3-1 win at Bournemouth with late goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix, after Conor Gallagher’s opening header was cancelled out by Matias Vina’s stunning curled strike.

Harry Kane’s first-half injury-time header saw him become the Premier League’s second-highest goalscorer of all time, as Tottenham scraped past Crystal Palace in a scrappy London derby.

Finally, Toti’s ninth minute header saw Wolves dent Aston Villa’s hopes of Europa League qualification in a tight Midlands derby at Molineux.
