Winger, Jaidon Anthony has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract at Bournemouth until June 2027.

Anthony began his career within Arsenal’s youth academy – not far from his birth place of Hackney, London, but moved to Bournemouth after a trial period, where he graduated into their senior squad in December 2020 in a 3-2 loss against Preston.

The 23 year-old has since helped the Cherries secure promotion back into the Premier League at end of last season, and has scored 12 goals in 75 senior appearances for Bournemouth with impressive performances which has earned him a new contract until June 2027.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk about his decision to sign a new contract, Anthony commented: “I’m delighted to get it over the line. I want to continue to focus on my football and hopefully have a good rest of the season.

“The club have shown a lot of faith in me over the past few years and that’s been very much appreciated. Hopefully, I can repay them on the pitch.”

Anthony also acknowledged the change of ownership which was completed during the World Cup break, as he added: “The new owners have come in and they’ve got an exciting project, an idea of where they want the club to go. It’s going to be an honour to be a part of it and try to push the club forward.

“They have added some top players and I think we’ve got an exciting young team and, hopefully, we can have some success on the pitch.”

Bournemouth Chief Executive, Neill Blake added that he is “delighted” to retain Anthony on a new four-and-a-half year contract.

Blake also explained that this contract is a statement of the club’s intention concerning their young players, as he said: “As a club, we are determined to keep our best young players and this is Jaidon’s reward for all the hard work he has done for us.

“He is an exciting player who we feel will only continue to develop and he has shown he can perform in the Premier League, the best and most competitive league in the world.”
