English Football Association have announced the schedule for 2022-23 FA Cup with the Final set for 3 June 2023.
This season’s competition will commence on the weekend of 5-8 August 2022, with several Non League teams across steps 4 & 5 of the FA National League System entering in the Extra Preliminary Round, with 64 clubs including Stockton Town exempt from the opening round.
Michael Dunwell’s Anchors will be amongst a host of teams alongside Cray Valley and Hashtag United who will enter in the Preliminary Round, which is scheduled across the weekend of 19-22 August.
The winners will all then be joined by 88 clubs in the First Qualifying Round across weekend of 2-5 September, with those playing at Step 2 of FA National League System joining in the Second Qualifying Round across the weekend of 16-19 September.
All winners of the Second Qualifying Round will advance to the Third Qualifying Round, which is scheduled to be played across the weekend of 30 September – 3 October.
Those who reach the last stage of Qualifying will then be joined by National League clubs in the Fourth Qualifying Round, which is set to be played between 14-17 October.
League One and Two clubs will then enter the competition alongside the victorious Non League clubs who make it through the Qualifying stage, with First Round Proper ties to be played between 4-7 November.
Second Round ties will then take place across 26-28 November with no match expected to be scheduled for Friday 25 November, due to England playing their second Group Stage match at 2022 FIFA World Cup that evening against USA.
Those who survive the first two rounds of the competition will then be joined by Premier League and Championship clubs in the Third Round, with ties set to be played between 6-9 January 2023.
Fourth Round ties will take place between 27-30 January, with Fifth Round ties then played in the week commencing 27 February.
Quarter-Final ties will take place across the weekend of 17-19 March before the Semi-Finals at Wembley take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April respectively.
The two remaining teams will meet at Wembley Stadium in the Final on Saturday 3 June for the chance to be crowned 2022-23 FA Cup champions.
FA officials have also confirmed the return of replays for all Qualifying Rounds as well as for First, Second, Third and Fourth Rounds Proper, whilst matches played within the last four stages will be settled on the date with extra-time and penalties if necessary.
