Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has signed a new five-year contract at Leicester City until June 2027.

Dewsbury-Hall made his Foxes debut as a substitute in a Fourth Round victory at Brentford in 2019-20 FA Cup, yet was sent out on loan to Blackpool days later where he proceeded to score four goals in 10 appearances.

The English midfielder went on to make a sole appearance for Leicester in 2020-21 season in a 2-0 home defeat against Arsenal in the Third Round of the Carabao Cup, before spending the rest of the season on loan at Luton where he delivered three goals in 40 appearances.

Dewsbury-Hall however produced a string of impressive performances for the Hatters which saw Foxes’ manager, Brendan Rogers opt to keep the 23 year-old within his senior squad last season where he contributed three goals in 44 appearances.

He also made a substitute appearance in last season’s Community Shield as Leicester defeated Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

Leicester consequently have swooped to tie Dewsbury-Hall down to a new five-year contract until June 2027 as part of their long-term plans for the future.

Speaking to LCFC TV about his decision to sign a new contract, Dewsbury-Hall said: “I’m so proud and I’m really happy. It’s a great day for myself and my family. A lot of hard work has gone into this deal, and it’s a really nice feeling to get it done. Now, I’m just looking forward to the future.

“I have a really good relationship with the Football Club. I’ve been here since I was eight-years-old, so it was a no-brainer really when I sat down and we spoke about the deal. I’ve got big, big ambitions for the future, and I know the Football Club have too.”

Dewsbury-Hall also added that he has “big, big ambitions for the future” as Leicester prepare for their first campaign without European football since 2019-20 season, having finished eighth in the Premier League last season following various injuries across the campaign.

Having been part of Leicester’s Academy as the senior squad slowly but steadily enjoyed success in recent years, Dewsbury-Hall described being a spectator to those moments despite being within the club’s set-up as “a really good feeling” that gives him “a lot of motivation” to strive for trophies.

Looking ahead to the new campaign, Dewsbury-Hall is “excited” to get the season underway as the Foxes host Brentford at home on Sunday 7 August in an untelevised 2pm BST kick-off.

Setting some early targets, Dewsbury-Hall added: “I’ve got the feeling of playing in the Premier League for Leicester and I just want it to continue, so I’m getting myself in the best possible shape ready for pre-season and ready for the start of the Premier League.

“This year we are really looking to get back up in there, and I feel like we can. I’m the sort of player that thrives off playing a lot of games – I get into my momentum, into my swing. I’m a naturally fit person.”
