Leeds United have announced that the club will tour Australia in pre-season ahead of the 2022-23 season.
This announcement will see Leeds return to Australia as a Premier League club for the first time, having last visited Down Under in July 2019 when they were still in the Sky Bet Championship before clinching promotion at the end of 2019-20 season.
Leeds will participate in the Queensland Champions Cup alongside Brisbane Roar and Aston Villa, beginning with a clash against the Roar on Thursday 14 July at 7:45pm AEST (10:45am BST UK Time) at Cbus Super Stadium, Robina, Gold Coast.
Jesse Marsch’s Whites then face Villa at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, on Sunday 17 July at 2:35pm AEST (5:35am BST) in their final game of the three-team tournament.
Queensland’s Official Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk has described the three teams involved in this tournament as “major drawcards” for football fans across the North-Eastern Australian state plus “a great win for the state’s tourism industry.”

Leeds will then head to ICON Festival of Football in Perth where they will face Crystal Palace at Optus Stadium on Friday 22 July at 6:05pm AWST (11:05am BST), as the Yorkshire club look for a better result at the venue after losing 4-0 to Manchester United in 2019.
Tickets for the match against Palace in Perth will go on sale from Thursday 5 May at 2pm AWST (7:00am BST) at www.ticketek.com.au
Leeds have confirmed that club members will have access to pre-sale tickets from 2pm AWST (7am BST) on Tuesday 3 May to 1pm AWST (6am BST) on Wednesday 4 May.
Club officials have also announced plans to offer official travel packages for Leeds fans for the pre-season tour to Australia, with package details set to be released once confirmed although hotels, transfers, match tickets and exclusive experiences will be officially part of the package deals.
Leeds manager, Marsch believes that the trip to Australia is “a great opportunity” for the club to play in front of their Australian fans as well as visit “a wonderful country” which he is aware of for their passion across multiple sports including football.”
On how important this trip will be for his team’s pre-season preparations, Marsch added: “This will be our club’s third playing trip to Australia and I’m very much looking forward to taking the team back for what will be an important part of our preparations for the 2022/23 season.”
This announcement comes as Villa also this morning confirmed their pre-season plans Down Under ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League season, which commences on the weekend of 5-8 August.
