Campos have announced that David Vidales will complete their driver line-up for 2022 F3 season.

Having enjoyed a trophy laden karting career between 2013-19 which includes Spanish Cadet Championship titles in 13 & 14, Vidales enjoyed a strong single-seater debut in 2020 in Formula Renault Eurocup where he finished sixth overall with two wins and four other podiums.

The Spaniard graduated to Formula Regional European Championship in 2021 where he finished 10th for PREMA, with one win and two further podium finishes, before enjoying a strong 2021 F3 Post-Season Test despite testing only on the first two days.

Speaking about his new opportunity to step up to F3 with Campos, Vidales paid tribute to the late founder – Adrian Campos who died in early 2021 as he described it as “an honor” after he helped Vidales take his first steps into single-seater racing with his manager- Salvatore Gandolfo.

Vidales also revealed that he is “proud” to drive in F3 for a Spanish team and “can’t wait to start working with them to aim for wins in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 series!”

Campos Team Principal, Adrian Campos Junior added that Vidales “is a very competitive driver who got his first taste of single-seater racing with us.

“We all know his real potential and how well he is able to perform. Whenever we have the opportunity to work with Spanish talents, we definitely do it. Our goal this season is to hoist the Spanish flag at the top of the podium as much as possible.”

Vidales previously tested for Ferrari Young Driver Academy in 2016 alongside his then Tony Kart teammate, Marcus Armstrong, with Armstrong ultimately winning a place in the Scuderia’s Driver Academy until he was dropped from the programme last month.

Vidales will partner Hunter Yeany and Pepe Marti at Campos this season with pre-season testing set to get underway from 2-4 March 2022 in Bahrain.
