Philip Zinckernagel provided a goal and assist as Nottingham Forest knocked out reigning champions – Leicester 4-1 at the City Ground, with Brennan Johnson, Joe Worrall and Djed Spence also finding the net for the hosts despite Kelechi Iheanacho’s consolatory goal for the Foxes.
Diogo Jota provided a goal and assist as Liverpool thrashed Cardiff 3-1 at Anfield, during which Harvey Elliott scored on his return from an ankle injury after nearly five months on the sidelines.
Marcos Alonso’s strike midway through extra time saw Chelsea scrape through to the Fifth Round with a 2-1 victory over League One’s Plymouth Argyle, having initially fought back through Cesar Azpilicueta after Macaulay Gillesphey had headed the visitors in front after eight minutes.
First-half goals from Marc Guehi and Michael Olise safely saw Crystal Palace ease to a comfortable 2-0 home win over League Two’s Hartlepool United at Selhurst Park.
Current Premier League leaders, Manchester City were forced to come from behind to defeat Fulham 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium with goals from Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones and a Riyad Mahrez brace, after Fabio Carvalho had fired the Cottagers ahead in the fourth minute.
Kyle Walker-Peters rifled in a 112th minute winner as Southampton fought back to defeat Coventry 2-1 at St Mary’s Stadium, after Stuart Armstrong’s curler cancelled out Viktor Gyokeres’ opener.

Frank Lampard enjoyed a successful debut as Everton manager in which the Toffees thrashed Brentford 4-1 at Goodison Park, with Yerry Mina and Richarlison putting Everton 2-0 up prior to Ivan Toney’s 54th minute penalty but Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend eventually wrapped up victory.
Harry Kane’s brace saw Tottenham defeat Brighton 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in which the Seagulls’ Solly March scored an own goal, whilst Yves Bissouma briefly halved the visitors deficit just after the hour mark.
Kenny McLean’s first-half injury-time header from Billy Gilmour’s cross saw Norwich scrape past Wolves at Molineux to extend their winning run to three matches in all competitions.

Duane Holmes rifled in a 19th minute winner from Josh Koroma’s chested down pass as Huddersfield scraped through 1-0 against Yorkshire rivals, Barnsley.
Goals from Joe Ward and Ricky-Jade Jones saw Peterborough stun Championship rivals, QPR at London Road in a 2-0 win over Mark Warburton’s Hoops.
Carlos Mendes Gomes scored his first goal for Luton as the Hatters thrashed League One’s Cambridge United 3-0 at the Abbey Stadium, with Reece Burke and Admiral Muskwe also scoring either side of Mendes Gomes’ effort.
Tyrese Campbell provided assists for Josh Maja and Jacob Brown as Stoke comfortably knocked out 2012-13 champions, Wigan in a 2-0 home win at BET365 Stadium.
Tricky Fifth Round Ties Await Several Premier League Clubs
In the Fifth Round draw, Middlesbrough were handed a tricky home tie against Tottenham in the stand-out tie, whilst Chelsea and Manchester City face tough trips to Luton and Peterborough respectively.
