Premier League Announce Revised December Fixtures

Premier League have announced full details of December’s fixture list which sees BBC screen Crystal Palace’s trip to Aston Villa as part of a blockbuster festive schedule. 

BBC will broadcast Palace’s visit to Villa at Villa Park exclusively live on Boxing Day in a 3:00pm kick-off, marking the first time that the UK’s flagship broadcaster has screened a Boxing Day match live on television.

Sky Sports meanwhile will broadcast 27 matches throughout December, including the Manchester Derby on Saturday 12 December in a 5:30pm kick-off after screening West Brom’s trip to Newcastle at 3:00pm in their first Saturday mid-afternoon broadcast since July.

Other highlights on Sky Sports include Mikel Arteta taking his Arsenal team back to Goodison Park to face Everton, of who he played for between 2005-11 before switching to the Gunners where he finished his career plus a Boxing Day clash between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in a 5:30pm start.

BT Sport will screen nine matches throughout December including Villa’s two away Midlands derbies at Wolves and West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 12 and Sunday 20 December in respective lunchtime and Sunday evening kick-offs.

BT will also screen Chelsea’s trip to Goodison Park to face former Blues manager – Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton on 12 December at 8:00pm whilst other picks include Leicester’s home clash against Manchester United on Boxing Day (12:30pm), alongside Manchester City’s home game against Newcastle on the same date in a primetime start.

Amazon will screen the first midweek round of this season from 15-17 December with stand-out matches including a title clash between Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield on Wednesday 16 December, before Manchester United visit Sheffield United at Bramall Lane the following evening in what was one of the highlights of last season as both teams contested a six goal thriller.

Fans will also be able to watch the Bank Holiday round of fixtures from 28-30 December on Amazon which includes Brighton’s home clash against Arsenal on 29 December before Liverpool visit Newcastle at St James Park in the round’s concluding match.
