2026-27 Sky Bet Championship: Week 15 – Friday

Derby County continue their fight for Championship survival against Bolton.

Victory would see Derby stay second bottom but move to within four points of safety, whilst Bolton can move up to 12th with a win.

Team News

Sammie Szmodics is ruled out for Derby for the next six weeks after he suffered a knee injury during their 4-0 home defeat against Norwich on Tuesday.

Patrick Agyemang (Achilles), Eiran Cashin, Matt Clarke (both calf), Sondre Langas (groin), Craig Forsyth (knee) and Derry Murkin (hamstring) remain ruled out.

Bolton could be without Josh Sheehan after he suffered a minor foot injury in their 1-0 win at Charlton.

Atsuki Ito (muscle) is unlikely to be available, but Eoin Toal (ankle) remains sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Derby host Bolton at Pride Park on Friday 6 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Derby have lost one of their last five league meetings against Bolton (W3, D1, L1).
  • Bolton are winless in their last 16 league visits to Derby (D4, L12).
  • Just two of Derby’s seven points this season so far have been earned at home (D2, L5).
  • 11 of Bolton’s 17 points in the league this season so far have been earned away from home (W3, D2, L2).

Prediction

Sat second bottom and with just four goals scored at home where they remain winless this season, Derby certainly just don’t seem to have any real direction as they share the worst goals tally with Charlton in the division whilst their defence is just fragile to put it mildly.

Bolton meanwhile grinded out a clinical win at Charlton on Tuesday evening in a pretty tight game and will be sniffing a rare pair of back-to-back wins, but they will need to be clinical and target Derby’s shaky defence if they’re to stop their Pride Park hoodoo.

Either way I am not expecting anything too big other than a routine Bolton win on current form, unless Derby pull magic out of a bag somehow.

Prediction: Derby 0-2 Bolton
