Brentford welcome QPR to the Brentford Community Stadium in a blockbuster West-London derby in Friday Night Football from the Sky Bet Championship.
Victory could lift Brentford as high as fourth ahead of Saturday’s matches, whilst QPR could displace fellow London rivals – Millwall in tenth with a win.
Josh Dasilva is a doubt for Brentford after suffering a knock in Tuesday’s win over Barnsley.
Christian Norgaard (ankle), Mads Roerlsav (foot) and Shandon Baptiste (knee) remain long-term absentees.
QPR could be without Rob Dickie after he missed their last two matches with an ankle injury suffered in training.
George Thomas (thigh) and Luke Amos (knee) remain sidelined with no set return dates.
- Brentford are unbeaten in their last eight league meetings against QPR (W6, D1, L1)
- QPR are visiting the Brentford Community Stadium for the first time but are winless in their last six trips to Brentford (D1, L5)
- Bees’ Ivan Toney has scored 11 goals in 13 league appearances this season, producing one more goal than his total amount of ten goals across Peterborough’s first 13 matches last season
Brentford have shown some good form lately (W2, D3) but if they want to start making inroads towards the automatic promotion placings, they need to start turning in stronger performances than they have done recently, especially if Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney can begin to click more than they have done.
QPR meanwhile look like midtable contenders once more with their defensive deficiencies continuing to be a real issue despite showing strong attacking intent in their last five matches, so we should definitely see goals in this West London derby.
I however am going for a home win because QPR’s recent away form in this fixture has been poor and if Brentford can find more sharpness, this should be a routine if slightly nervy win.
Prediction: Brentford 2-1 QPR
Result: Brentford 2-1 QPR
