2019-20 Sky Bet Championship: Week 20 Roundup

West Bromwich Albion once again sit at the Sky Bet Championship summit as the promotion and relegation pictures begin to become clear.

Semi Ajayi’s 25th minute header put the Baggies ahead against Swansea before Matheus Pereira added their second just nine minutes later, only for Sam Surridge to then half Swansea’s deficit five minutes later.

Hal Robson-Kanu soon restored West Brom’s two goal lead with a tap-in from Pereira’s pass, before Pereira then assisted in second-half strikes by Matt Phillips and Kyle Edwards as the Baggies stay top with a 5-1 win.

Sheffield Wednesday round out the top six after Steven Fletcher’s second-half brace completed a comeback win over Brentford, who initially led through Bryan Mbeumo’s 29th minute header.

Barnsley remain rock bottom after twice blowing one goal leads to lose 3-2 at Cardiff, although both teams saw one of their players score an own goal during this thriller.
