Tottenham are looking to make it three wins from three under Jose Mourinho as they welcome Bournemouth to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With the four teams above them not playing until Sunday, either team could go fifth with a win here.
Team news
Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns to report although Ben Davies is ruled out with ankle ligament damage.
Erik Lamela (thigh) and Michel Vorm (calf) are absent but could return next weekend against Burnley.
Hugo Lloris is still a month away from returning from an elbow injury.
Bournemouth will be without Simon Francis who is suspended after being sent off last weekend against Wolves, alongside Phillip Billings who picked up his fifth yellow card in that game.
Dominic Solanke and Ryan Fraser are doubtful with knocks but Lloyd Kelly should return from a thigh injury, if he passes a late fitness test.
Joshua King (hamstring) and Andrew Surman (knee) are ruled out but should be fit to return next weekend.
Charlie Daniels and Junior Stanislas are still ruled out with knee injuries alongside David Brooks (ankle).
Form
Tottenham are unbeaten in their last four across in all competitions but have kept just one clean sheet in that time, although they have conceded twice in each of their two games under Mourinho.
Bournemouth have lost their last two games by 2-1 results but have taken just a single point from their last three away games.
Stat Attack
- This is Tottenham’s 10th meeting with Bournemouth in all competitions.
- Spurs saw a seven match unbeaten run against the Cherries end in May in a 1-0 away defeat.
- Bournemouth are yet to score away to Tottenham in four defeats, conceding 12 without scoring.
- Son Heung-Min is the only Tottenham player to hit the woodwork more than once all season, doing so on three occasions.
- Chris Mepham is the only Bournemouth player to have made an error which led to a goal this season.
Prediction
One thing that Tottenham haven’t lacked this week isn’t fighting spirit because they have dug deep with two brilliant displays, even if their defending still needs work but it is positive progress at least.
Bournemouth meanwhile haven’t had that sharp edge needed to win games lately and were undone by a superb Wolves team last weekend.
I therefore would like to see Bournemouth step up and take the game to Spurs and end their goalless away streak in this fixture, even if it ends in defeat.
Prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Bournemouth
Result: Tottenham 3-2 Bournemouth
