QPR welcome Brentford to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in a West London Derby as the Hoops’ Mark Warburton takes charge against his former team.
Victory for the Rs will send them second whilst Brentford can climb to 12th if they take the win and throw themselves into the promotion scrap.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesJordan Hugill is ruled out for QPR as he serves a one match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card in their midweek draw with Reading.
Charlie Owen is also ruled out with a knee injury which he picked up last month in an U23s outing.
Brentford could name an unchanged team as Luka Racic looks unlikely to be risked, given that he has recently returned to first-team training from an injury.
Sergi Canos remains sidelined after suffering a serious knee injury just before the international break.
Form
QPR are unbeaten in their last three matches but have conceded in all nine home games across all competitions this season, and have scored at least twice in three of their last four such matches.
Brentford have lost just one of their last six matches and have netted three goals in two of their last three away trips.
Stat Attack
- This is the 75th West London Derby between QPR and Brentford.
- QPR have taken just four points from a possible 18 in their last six league meetings with Brentford, of which those points all came at home (W1, D1, L4).
- Brentford last scored at least three goals in three consecutive league games in January 2018, when they took wins over Stoke, Rotherham and Blackburn.
Prediction
I am definitely expecting goals here because whilst both teams are fantastic going forward, their defending do leave a lot to be desired.
Hugill’s absence however is a huge miss for QPR and if I am honest, I can see Brentford’s front three eventually overwhelming the Rs’ attack and squeezing three points out of a thriller.
Prediction: QPR 2-3 Brentford
