2026-27 Sky Bet League One: Week 10 – Mansfield vs Bromley

Mansfield face a tricky League One test against Bromley as both teams seek to move away from the relegation zone.

Locked on eight points apiece in 17th and 19th respectively, victory would see Mansfield or Bromley climb as high as 10th in the table depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Louis Reed is a doubt for Mansfield after he suffered a shin injury during their 2-0 Jersey Mike’s Trophy defeat at Port Vale.

Ryan Sweeney (hip) and David McGoldrick (knock) face late fitness tests but Lucas Akins is ruled out after he suffered a hamstring injury on international duty for Grenada.

Baily Cargill remains sidelined with a serious hamstring injury.

Bromley could welcome key players like JJ McKiernan and Victor Adeboyejo back into contention, after the pair were amongst several members left out of the Ravens’ 4-0 Jersey Mike’s Trophy loss at Crawley.

Owen Mason is set to return in goal after he withdrew from international duty for Republic of Ireland due to a shoulder injury, from which he has since made a recovery.

Grant Smith (stress fracture), Shamal George and Deon Woodman (both unspecified) are doubts with manager – Andy Woodman still secretive on if any of the trio could return for this match.

Richard Taylor (hamstring) and Ashley Charles (Cruciate) are still ruled out indefinitely.

When is Kick-Off?

Mansfield host Bromley at Field Mill on Saturday 10 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Mansfield’s first-ever meeting against Bromley in all competitions.
  • Bromley are making their maiden visit to Mansfield at Field Mill across all competitions.
  • Nathan Moriah-Welsh has been involved in four of Mansfield’s 10 league goals this season, with two goals and assists apiece in seven appearances.
  • Bromley’s Victor Adeboyejo has converted four of his five shots on target into goals in seven league appearances this season.

Prediction

Unbeaten in their last 10 league matches at home but currently in inconsistent form this season, Mansfield know that this is a chance to utilise their third-tier experience to extract a much-needed win but are winless in their last five games in all competitions.

Bromley meanwhile were just lacklustre at Crawley but with several key players set to return, I hope that they have used the international break to click more as a group and can build on their last two league displays which were promising, especially with Mason in goal.

Although Mansfield’s home form is strong, they’ve failed to win since late August whereas Bromley had built some momentum before the break, so I do think that this is going to be close but Bromley could end the Stags’ home run if can use their underdog status more as motivation.

Prediction: Mansfield 1-2 Bromley
