Guide to the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix as F1 heads to Marina Bay to wrap up the Eastern-Europe-Asian triple header.
Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli arrives in Singapore with a 84-point championship lead over teammate, George Russell who is taking a power unit change penalty, which puts the Italian in a strong position to further extend his grasp on a maiden F1 title.
This weekend however marks F1’s first sprint weekend on the streets of Singapore – and last sprint weekend of the season, meaning that a maximum of 33 points is on offer across the weekend.
Red Bull though are coming into this weekend off the back of a first victory as their own power unit manufacturer at the Bahrain GP in Malaysia, so confidence will be high whilst Ferrari and McLaren will both look to fight for victory at a track which can throw up unpredictability.
Now, here is a guide to everything that you must know about the 2026 Singapore GP.

Five Key Pointers
- With just one practice session ahead of sprint qualifying, every team will need to maximise their practice time.
- Singapore in recent years has often gone against the form book but this year’s event looks wide open between Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull.
- With potential for traffic, small mistakes, yellow or even red flags during each qualifying segment amidst track evolution, banking a strong early lap could be key for each driver.
- Due to the tightness of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, there is a high risk of safety cars which could well play a role in determining the race outcome depending on time of deployment.
- With Russell starting from the back of the grid due to a power unit change penalty, he could opt for the alternative strategy although there will be chances for plenty of overtaking.
Last Time Out
Russell dominated the race on F1’s visit in 2025 from pole position to win from Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, whilst McLaren wrapped up the constructors’ title with six rounds to spare.
