Newcastle United face high-flying Hull City in a Premier League contest at St James’ Park.
Victory will lift Newcastle back into the top ten in the table, whilst Hull can go third with a win.

Nico Gonzalez is ruled out for Newcastle after he suffered concussion during their 4-1 loss at Leeds.
Amar Dedic, Anthony Elanga (both hamstring), Jacob Ramsey (thigh), William Osula (foot), Ewen Jaouen, Dan Burn (both ankle) and Joelinton (groin) remain absent.
Hull will be without Nobel Mendy after he suffered a concussion during their 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
Paddy McNair (foot) and Matt Targett (ankle) are doubts and face late fitness checks.
Jack Butland (arm), Eliot Matzo (ACL), Hidemasa Morita, Darko Gyabi (both adductor), Ilyas Ansah (back) and Charlie Hughes (hernia) are still ruled out.

- Newcastle have lost two of their six previous Premier League meetings against Hull (W2, D2, L2).
- Hull are yet to lose away to Newcastle in the Premier League (W2, D1).
- Both of Newcastle’s two league matches at home this season so far have ended in 2-2 draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.
- Two of Hull’s five league goals in their opening four matches were scored by Mohamed Belloumi.
Prediction
Having not looked really at the races against a more intensely-pressing Leeds at Elland Road and clinically punished for their defensive errors amidst more injury woes, Newcastle now need to tighten up and be clinical otherwise they could be in trouble on the counter-attacks.
Hull meanwhile just don’t seem bothered about the pre-season relegation favourites tag because their counter-attacking play has been efficient, whilst they too showed resilience and grit to come from behind to lead in their draw at Chelsea so hopefully will see more of the same.
Newcastle though need to produce a reaction so the pressure is on them which might just suit Hull if can soak up their attack and hit them on the counter-attack.
