2026-27 Premier League: Week Five – Forest vs Coventry

Nottingham Forest host struggling Coventry in a Midlands derby in the 2026-27 Premier League.

Victory will lift Forest into the top ten, whilst Coventry can move off the foot of the table with a win although they would need to win by six goals or more to climb out of the relegation zone if Tottenham draw at home to Aston Villa.

Jair Cunha could return for Forest after he missed their 2-1 win at Aston Villa due to a minor hamstring injury.

Nikola Milenkovic (hamstring) and Nicolo Savona (knee) remain absent.

Coventry will be without Aurele Amenda after he suffered a calf injury in the first half of their 3-1 Carabao Cup exit against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Taiwo Awoniyi (suspension), Josh Eccles (undisclosed), Haji Wright (quad), Kaine Kesler-Hayden (hamstring) and Luke Woolfenden (knee) remain sidelined.

Prediction

Now that they have finally got that first win of the season under their belt with a dominant display at Villa with two clinical goals, Forest now will view this game as a chance to kick on and build some momentum if they can show more composure and quality in their final touches.

Coventry meanwhile are just a defensive mess with a weak central third as saw against Villa and without a league goal to their name, they really need to find something to give themselves any building block to build on in the international break otherwise questions must be asked.

I however do think that Forest will be far too strong for Coventry to deal with and should be a routine result.
