2026-27 Premier League: Week Five – Everton vs Ipswich

Everton meet Ipswich in a mid-table Premier League encounter at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Sat on six points apiece in ninth and tenth positions respectively, victory would see Everton or Ipswich definitely spend the international break inside the top ten.

Team News

Harrison Armstrong is a doubt for Everton due to a knock which kept him out of their 1-0 Carabao Cup victory over Wolves.

Merlin Rohl and Christian Norgaard remain sidelined with undisclosed injuries.

Ipswich could welcome Emersonn back after he missed their 4-2 Carabao Cup exit against Arsenal due to a minor quad injury.

Azor Matusiwa could make his debut after he missed Ipswich’s first six matches across all competitions, having undergone thigh surgery in the summer.

Jack Taylor remains sidelined with a knee injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Everton host Ipswich at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday 19 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Everton have won just one of their last six Premier League meetings against Ipswich (W1, D2, L3).
  • Ipswich have claimed eight points in their six previous Premier League trips to Everton (W2, D2, L2), although this is their first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
  • Everton have scored twice in each of their first two home games in the top-flight this season (W1, D1).
  • Leif Davis has scored in both of Ipswich’s away games in the top flight this season (W1, L1).

Prediction

Still unbeaten this season although they have grinded out draws in their last three league matches, Everton will view this as a winnable chance to return to winning ways if they can keep their defence tight and be clinical up top like they were against Wolves.

Ipswich though were never really going to beat Arsenal in their cup tie but they at least gave it a good go from 4-0 down, which I hope will give them belief coming into this match because if they can go into the international break with nine points then that is above expectations.

I however just feel that both teams will have enough quality to cancel each other out and claim a point apiece.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Ipswich
