Midfielder, Divine Mukasa has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
Mukasa spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester but his two goals in 16 appearances couldn’t prevent the Foxes’ relegation to League One, having initially made six first-team appearances for City in the first half of the campaign.
Man City however have decided to send Mukasa out on loan again for this season and allowed him to return to his boyhood club, having spent 2013-23 at West Ham before his move to City.
“I’m so excited to be back,” commented Mukasa who will wear the number 14 shirt. “Just excited to get playing again, really. Once I heard of the opportunity to come back, it was a no-brainer for me.
“With my style of play, I want to create, score goals and just help the team win games. I’m just so excited to get in and try to help the Club get back where they belong.”
West Ham’s Director of Player Recruitment, Nils Koppen added: “We are very happy to welcome Divine back to West Ham United.
“Divine is one of the brightest young talents in English football, a creative, skillful player who will bring something different to our attacking options.
“He obviously knows West Ham well, having spent ten years in the Academy as a schoolboy, and clearly has a deep affection for the Club. That will help him to settle quickly and hopefully hit the ground running.
“With all of the factors involved, we believe that this is a perfect opportunity for Divine to continue his progress and development in the right environment, and that he can make a really positive impact in his time here.”
