Tonbridge Angels have signed midfielder, Hayden Bullas on a season-long loan from Bromley for the 2026-27 campaign.
Bullas’ loan move to the National League South club comes after a successful pre-season at Bromley where he played in several first-team pre-season friendlies, but manager – Andy Woodman has opted to send the 20-year-old out on loan to gain first-team experience.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be here,” explained Bullas to Tonbridge Angels’ club website as he vowed to do the fans proud and maximise his loan. “It’s a great club and it’s going to be a privilege to put the shirt on. I’m going to give everything I can for the club and the fans.”
Bullas previously came close to a permanent transfer to the Angels before he moved to Bromley this summer and knew manager, Alan Dunne from previous interactions, so knew that he wanted to join once the club expressed interest in him.
“I nearly came before on a permanent move so I got to know Dunney then and as soon as the opportunity arose to come here on a loan, I knew I wanted it.”
The youngster added that he will fight hard for the team and is aiming for the play-offs as he urged the fans to continue their volatile noisy atmosphere as motivation for the team.
“I’m a box-to-box midfielder with a never-say-die attitude. I’m always working hard, I like to get on the ball, tidy things up where I can and hopefully get in the right areas to create assists and goals as well.
“I came to Tonbridge last season and I thought the fans were so loud, even a bit intimidating and when the fans are loud like that, you want to pay them back by getting good results. I think the minimum target for this club has to be the play-offs. I think the club deserves to be in the national league for sure.
“Fans can expect 100 per cent from me at all times and I’m going to do everything I can for the badge. Whether it’s blood or sweat or tears, I’m going to leave everything on that pitch and come off it, not being able to give any more.”
Dunne added that he had been monitoring Bullas throughout last season whilst the midfielder was on loan at Enfield Town from Leyton Orient, but was beaten to his signature by Bromley where he had previously been a first-team coach, and thanked the Ravens for entrusting Bullas on loan at his club for this season.
“Hayden is a player I’ve been monitoring for around a year. I wanted to sign him permanently but was beaten to his signature by Bromley this summer. But then it was agreed that the best way to continue his development was for Bromley to loan him out to us for a season so it’s all worked out really well.
“I’d like to thank Bromley for their trust and support. The strong relationship between our clubs is incredibly important, and we’re committed to providing players like Hayden with the best possible environment to develop and fulfil their potential.
“He’s an exciting young player, a box-to-box midfielder. I think he’s got a big future in the game and I’m looking forward to seeing him in an Angels shirt.”
