Bromley Suffer 7-0 Friendly Defeat Against QPR as Lloyd Nets Hat-Trick

Alfie Lloyd’s hat-trick helped QPR defeat Bromley 7-0 in a pre-season friendly at the CopperJax Stadium. 

Ilias Chair, Lloyd and Paul Smyth fired QPR into a comfortable half-time lead, before Isak Alemayehu added their fourth goal with an overhead volley in the 54th minute.

Philip Sanyaolu’s 56th-minute header and a brace from Lloyd within eight minute wrapped up QPR’s comfortable victory.

Bromley will now conclude their pre-season with a trip to Barnet tomorrow (1 August) at 3pm BST, whilst QPR visit AFC Wimbledon at the same time to wrap up their pre-season campaign.

Despite this match being Bromley’s last pre-season friendly at home following the cancellation of their fixture against Liverpool Under-21s on 5 August earlier today, Andy Woodman fielded a weak line-up with one eye on tomorrow’s trip to Barnet.

His selection quickly backfired just two minutes in when Chair dispatched a cross from Sanyaolu to put QPR ahead.

QPR quickly doubled their lead just two minutes later as Chair turned playmaker to set up Lloyd to put them 2-0 up in the fourth minute.

Bromley soon settled but struggled to offer much quality as Alemayehu almost further extended QPR’s lead in the 21st minute, yet the youngster struck the crossbar with his shot.

Smyth eventually capped a dominant first half for Julien Stephan’s Hoops with a 41st-minute finish to put the visitors 3-0 up at half time.

If Bromley held any hope that QPR would switch into cruise mode for the second half then those hopes were sunk in the 54th minute, as Alemayehu smashed an overhead volley past Dillon Addai to heap further misery on the Ravens.

Such was QPR’s dominance, Sanyaolu further stretched the Hoops’ advantage with a header two minutes later to net their fifth goal.

Lloyd made it three second-half goals in the space of six minutes as he finished off Kealey Adamson’s cross from the right flank in the 59th minute.

The 23-year-old completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute after he dispatched a penalty past Addai to seal a dominant evening, with Bromley’s Chanse Headman having conceded the spot-kick through a careless handball.
