Bromley’s final home pre-season friendly against Liverpool Under-21s on Wednesday 5 August 2026 has been cancelled.

The fixture was scheduled to take place at the CopperJax Stadium in a 7:45pm BST kick-off on 5 August, but the Reds are now no longer able to make the 248-mile trip to the Ravens for unspecified reasons and stated in a club statement that the match is definitively “cancelled”.

It is thought that the cancellation is caused by the fact that several members of the Under-21s squad are still with the main squad due to various absences, owing to several first-team players still being on leave due to their involvement in the latter stages of this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

In their own club statement, Bromley however stated that the fixture had been postponed until next summer due to a desire from both teams to commit “to a positive and long-term relationship”, particularly given that Bromley manager, Andy Woodman’s son – Freddie plays for the Reds as third-choice goalkeeper.

“Our upcoming friendly against Liverpool U21s, initially scheduled for Wednesday 5th August, has been postponed due to the visiting side being unable to fulfil the fixture.

“Both clubs are strongly committed to a positive and long-term relationship, and discussions will take place around a fixture taking place during the 2027/28 pre-season campaign.

“Further information around match tickets and hospitality tickets purchased will be circulated in due course, once there is a commercial agreement in place between the two clubs.”

Bromley’s friendly against QPR this evening (31 July) at 7:30pm BST will now be their last home friendly of the 2026-27 pre-season, before they conclude their pre-season tomorrow (1 August) with a trip to Barnet at 3pm.
