Manchester City have signed winger, Jeremy Monga from Leicester City in a transfer deal worth up to £12.5m.
Monga graduated through Leicester’s Academy to make his professional senior debut in a 3-0 defeat at home to Newcastle United in April 2025, and went on to score one goal in 37 appearances as the Foxes suffered consecutive relegations from Premier League and Championship in last two seasons.
Leicester consequently opted to sell the 16 year-old as part of a squad rebuild ahead of their first season in League One since the 2008-09 campaign, with Arsenal initially thought to be frontrunners for him following early negotiations.
City however decided to make a late move with an offer worth a total fee of £12.5m, which consisted of a £10m fixed fee plus £2.5m in add-ons, which the Foxes accepted and Monga subsequently signed a five-year contract to join last season’s League Cup and FA Cup champions until June 2031.
“When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me,” commented Monga.
“For any young footballer, to become part of this amazing club is a dream come true.
“This has been the best club in England over the past 10 years. And it has also handed opportunities to players from the Academy like Phil Foden and Nico O’Reilly which shows that the pathway is there.
“It is a privilege to be here and I’m delighted to have joined.”
