Tottenham Hotspur fight for Premier League survival against Everton on the final day of the 2025-26 season.
Victory or a draw would be enough for Spurs to stay up given their superior goal difference over West Ham, whilst Everton can finish as high as tenth with a win.
Team News
Djed Spence is available for Tottenham despite having suffered a jaw injury during their 2-1 loss at Chelsea.
Dominic Solanke (hamstring) is also available but Ben Davies (ankle), Mohammed Kudus (quad), Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert (both ACL), Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski (both knee) are still ruled out.
Everton could welcome Idrissa Gueye back from a knock.
Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Jack Grealish (foot) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 24 May at 4pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have lost just one of their last 10 league meetings against Everton (W5, D4, L1).
- Everton have won one of their last five visits to Tottenham (W1, L4).
- Spurs haven’t done the league double over Everton since the 2017-18 season.
- Tottenham previously hosted Everton at home on the final day of the 2018-19 season, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
- Spurs are winless in their last 10 league matches at home (D4, L6).
- Everton have won just two of their last five final-day fixtures (W2, L3).
Prediction
With survival in their own hands, Tottenham simply need to turn up and deliver a clinical performance because they absolutely can’t afford to be as wasteful as they were at Chelsea, whilst an early goal will be beneficial as it places the psychological pressure on West Ham.
My worry though is how Spurs manage if West Ham score first against Leeds because a draw would be enough for them, yet it could make things cagey which isn’t ideal given their vulnerable defence as Everton have nothing to play for which makes them dangerously difficult to predict performance wise.
Everton are also managed by David Moyes who previously managed West Ham in-between his two spells at the Toffees, which adds extra motivation for them to go for the win to at least hold up their end of the chalice and hope that West Ham fulfil their end with a win to stay up.
That scenario of wins for both Everton and West Ham though would send Tottenham down which would be a significant moment in the club’s modern history, yet there is no doubting that Spurs wouldn’t even be in this position if had played better and be more clinical.
I however do think that Spurs will flirt with the devil that is relegation but eventually pull through if Everton’s defence collapse like it did against Sunderland last weekend.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Everton
Result: Tottenham 1-0 Everton
