Cambridge United manager, Neil Harris has praised Bromley for a “relentless” season following their 0-0 draw.
Bromley missed out on a chance to clinch promotion last night (16 April) after they were held to a goalless draw at home by Cambridge, although the result extended their unbeaten league run at home to 25 matches.
Harris post-match was full of praise for Andy Woodman’s Ravens in his interview with the Us’ YouTube Channel, as he reflected on Bromley’s second-half performance after they rode their luck against his wasteful Cambridge team in the first half which put them “… on the back foot a little bit.”
“And I thought second half I thought Bromley came out played down wind down slope. Um then we see tonight everyone here tonight see why they’re top of the league. They’re relentless at what they do. They’re ever so good at what they do. But they can the buggers can run.
“They can run and get round second balls and they fight and they scrap. And they ask questions of you. And they asked a lot of questions of us second half. And we had to put our bodies on the line.”
Harris proceeded to explain that he didn’t expect Cambridge to beat Bromley as he instead hoped that they “…could physically compete with Bromley.”
The 48-year-old manager added that he expects Woodman’s Ravens to go on and get promoted as he applauded their home record.
“Bromley had to win to get promoted. A draw that’d be enough for them. They’d be fine. They’d be promoted. Um, so you know they’ve got themselves in a really good spot.
You know you don’t go unbeaten all season, you know, for you know, unless unless you’re a really good side. You don’t lose one game at home. We’ve got the same amount of points as them at home. And we saw how good they were tonight and that’s that’s how good we’ve been.”
