George Evans’ 101st-minute equaliser rescued League Two leaders, Bromley a 2-2 draw at ten-men Barnet.

Evans equalised with a last-gasp equaliser in the 101st minute from close range to salvage a draw for Bromley. after Kabongo Tshimanga had put Barnet in front from behind through a 76th-minute penalty after he was fouled by Kyle Cameron on the Bromley defender’s return from injury.

Nicke Kabamba had fired Bromley ahead in the 12th minute before Phillip Chinedu pulled Barnet level with a 18th-minute equaliser, but the hosts were reduced to ten men in the 69th minute after Danny Collinge was red carded for an elbow on Omar Sowunmi.

Barnet remain 12th in League Two and four points off the last play-off spot currently held by Chesterfield, whilst Bromley’s lead at the summit remained at five points after MK Dons were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Barrow.

Despite their 21-match unbeaten run having ended at Barrow last time out, Bromley began the game on the front foot with an early throw-in from Mitch Pinnock, which Omar Sowunmi nodded behind towards Damola Ajayi but the winger flicked his shot over the bar.

Barnet however had beaten Bromley’s promotion rivals, MK Dons and Cambridge in their last two matches and soon posed a threat as Adam Senior nodded a seventh-minute header wide from a corner-kick.

Bromley though took a 12th-minute lead from a free-kick which was played out wide and into the box, which eventually fell for Kabamba to smash into his near-left corner on the turn under pressure from Collinge.

Barnet quickly responded four minutes later as Tshimanga broke forward on the counter-attack but opted to tee up the incoming Mark Shelton, yet the latter’s shot was straight into Grant Smith.

Dean Brennan’s Bees continued to pile the pressure on and were back level in the 18th minute after a move on the left flank found Glover, who laid off for Chinedu and the 19-year old rifled a shot into the far-right corner from a tight angle for just his second senior goal of his career.

Barnet subsequently continued to dominate possession as Senior saw a 21st-minute header tipped wide by Smith but Bromley dug in defensively to keep parity until half-time, amidst wide shots from Kabamba and Whitely.

The early stages of the second half was dominated by Barnet as Glover and Shelton curled free-kicks wide, whilst Senior and Tshimanga both saw shots denied.

Bromley found a footing on the hour mark as Marcus Ifill fired wide and Ajayi saw a shot saved by Ciaran Slicker, yet were lucky that referee – David Rock denied Barnet a 68th-minute penalty after Glover dived into the box following a collision with Ifill.

Barnet though were reduced to ten men a minute later after Collinge was red carded for an elbow on Sowunmi during build-up to a corner, which Romoney Crichlow-Noble subsequently nodded over.

Bromley’s additional one-man advantage though didn’t help them as Cameron brought down Tshimanga as the latter tried to meet Stead’s low cross across the box in the 74th minute.

Tshimanga stepped up two minutes later and tucked his penalty into the bottom-right corner beyond Smith’s reach as the Bromley goalkeeper dived correctly to his left.

Barnet continued to push for a third goal but Tshimanga in the 85th minute deflected Shelton’s shot wide, just minutes after Ashley Charles put a shot wide for Bromley.

Brennan’s Bees looked set to clinch victory until youngster, George Evans came on in the 100th minute and rescued a vital point for Bromley with a finish from close range just one minute later from Marcus Dinanga’s low headed pass of Sowunmi’s flick-on touch.
