2025-26 FA Cup: Fifth Round – Leeds vs Norwich

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United meet his former club, Norwich City in a fifth-round tie in the 2025-26 FA Cup. 

Victory would see Leeds progress to the Quarter-Finals for the first time since 2002-03 season, whilst Norwich look to move past this stage for the first time since 2019-20 season.

Leeds have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 Premier League defeat at home to Sunderland.

Noah Okafor remains absent with a hamstring injury.

Norwich have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-0 Championship victory at Leicester.

Mohamed Toure (groin), Oscar Schwartau (hamstring), Matej Jurasek and Jovon Makama (both foot) remain absent.

• Leeds have won two of three previous FA Cup ties against Norwich (W2, L3), although their first two clashes both needed replays of which both teams took one win apiece despite their third-round tie in 1972-73 having needed two replays.
• Norwich have avoided defeat in two of their three previous FA Cup trips to Leeds (W1, D1, L1).
• This is Leeds’ first FA Cup meeting against Norwich in the 21st century.
• All four of Leeds’ FA Cup goals this season came after half time.
• Norwich have lost four of their last five FA Cup ties against top-flight opposition (W1, L4).

 

Prediction

Having lacked the cutting edge in their end product despite their dominance in their last two matches which both ended in 1-0 defeats against Manchester City and Sunderland respectively in the league, Leeds certainly will need to put together a more composed display with neater finishing touches.

Norwich meanwhile are firmly sat in mid-table of the Championship with no chance of promotion via play-offs and likely to stay up, so this tie really is a free hit in essence for them as they can afford to have a cup run given their recent improved form.

I therefore am expecting this to be a tight scrappy affair but this is the ideal game for Leeds to rediscover their final touch and return to winning ways.

Result: Leeds 3-0 Norwich
