Bromley manager, Andy Woodman believes that his team has the “strength and depth” for the League Two run-in.

Woodman’s Ravens currently sit four points clear at the League Two summit from second-placed Cambridge but are currently without Kyle Cameron and Omar Sowunmi due to injuries, with Woodman unwilling to give much away in his pre-match preview for tomorrow’s (17 February) clash against Cheltenham.

Woodman however is pleased with how well Zech Medley and Jesse Debrah have settled in since their loan moves from Fleetwood and Port Vale respectively, which has provided him with the strength and depth needed to ensure that his team can fight for automatic promotion to League One.

“We have got some strength and depth now which is good and where we should be. I think more importantly, these two boys have only played together once before and they went out there on Saturday against a top team and Grant had very little to do. So that tells me everything about Zech and Jesse, you know, really settled in and we’ve got two good centre-halves there.”

Woodman proceeded to admit that he is relishing the battle for starting positions in central defence once Cameron and Sowunmi are available for selection again.

“I don’t mind that. I take that all day long. That’s a nice headache to have. It’s an easier headache to have than to try and find someone to play and panic that we haven’t got enough players. And look, everyone knows what the end goal is. We’re all pushing for the same thing. So, I’ve got a good group of players.

“If someone’s not playing for whatever reason, if I’ve just changed it, freshened it up, whatever it is, they all understand it.”

Bromley however were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Notts County on Valentine’s Day after the Magpies equalised with a controversial “bitter and twisted” penalty, but Woodman is keen to focus now on Cheltenham who he feels has improved since Steve Cotterill took charge in late September 2025.

“Yeah, very frustrated. Um and looking back, even probably more frustrated really, but the decision was such an easy decision to give and give the wrong way, but we have to move on. That’s how it goes I’m told. They will tell me it evens itself out over the course of the season. So, let see.”

“Yeah, we’ve been good. All focused, all ready, good to go. Looking forward to Cheltenham coming to town, who’ve had a real upturn since Steve’s gone in there and it will be a tough game. I say about all the games, doesn’t matter where teams are in the league, it’s going to be tough.”

Bromley claimed a 2-1 victory at Cheltenham in the reverse fixture earlier this season but Woodman expects another tricky game, as he spoke of his hope that his team stays focused and deliver the game plan.

“I mean, it was a close game and I think this will be no different. I really do. If anyone thinks it’s going to be an easy game or, you know, it just doesn’t work out like that.

“What we got to make sure is that we turn up, we stick to what we do. Don’t go away from what we do and what’s served us well here at home and really sort of test out Cheltenham really and make sure that we’re putting them under pressure.”

Mitch Pinnock in particular drew praise from Woodman for his performances which has seen him produce nine assists so far this season, but the boss is wary of managing the winger’s game time at this crucial stage of the season.

” Mitch has been a fantastic signing for us. We knew Mitch’s quality. What we just got to sometimes be careful of is that we just rely on Mitch solely and you know he played every game.

“We’ve got to make sure now we’re at the stage of the season where we just kind of make sure we look after people because we don’t want to lose Mitch for a hamstring or something like that, but Mitch has been absolutely sensational for us and like I say, he’s got 15 or 16 games, he’s got to make sure he keeps being sensational.”

With the season now hitting the crucial run-in stages until Saturday 2 May, Woodman feels that his team are ready for the challenges ahead.

“It’s crunch time, isn’t it now? Two months. This is the business end of the season now. All the work we’ve done leading up to this is great, but this is where the business end is now. And we’re in a good place. Lads are in a good place. I think it’s very important that we don’t lose sight of our goal, of our target and just stick to that.”
