Bromley have signed defender, Zech Medley on loan from Fleetwood Town until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Medley’s loan move to the Sky Bet League Two leaders came after a strong season in which he scored four goals in 28 goals for Fleetwood, who also play in the fourth division and sit 15th plus 19 points behind the Ravens.
Medley will wear the number 3 shirt as he replaces Deji Elerewe who had moved to Lincoln City last weekend, and marks the continuation of a strong season for the defender who made just six appearances for Fleetwood last season due to an Achilles injury.
The 25-year-old began his career at Chelsea before he joined Arsenal in 2016 for five years where he made eight senior appearances, and previously crossed paths with current Bromley manager; Andy Woodman who was the Gunners’ Goalkeeper coach between June 2018 – March 2021.
Upon signing his loan deal at Bromley, Medley revealed that his time alongside Woodman at Arsenal was a factor in his decision to make the move, as well as the opportunity to help the club achieve promotion to League One.
“It was good to work with Woody at Arsenal U21s. He’s a great character that brings loads of energy and I’m really looking forward to working with him in a first-team environment.
“I think now it’s about helping the team push and get over the line – that’s the main thing, pushing for that promotion. For me personally, I want to stay fit, play as many games as possible and be an integral part of this team.”
During that time, Medley enjoyed loan spells at Gillingham and then Kilmarnock in the 2020-21 season then upon his exit from Arsenal, he moved to Belgium’s KV Oostende where he scored three goals across 66 appearances in three seasons before he joined Fleetwood in July 2024.
Medley will both be available to make his Bromley debut away at Gillingham in the Kent derby on Saturday 31 January at 3pm GMT.
