2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 30 – Tuesday

Promotion-chasing Hull City host Watford in a huge rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash.

Victory would move Hull to within two points of the top two; Coventry and Middlesbrough, whilst Watford can climb to seventh with a win and move to within one point of the last play-off spot.

Team News

Akin Famewo is a doubt for Hull after he suffered a knee injury in their 1-0 victory at Blackburn last weekend.

Charlie Hughes suffered a knock in that match but is expected to be available for selection.

Ryan Giles (hamstring) could return but is unlikely to start the game.

Semi Ajayi, Matt Crooks (hamstring), Darko Gyabi (groin), Cody Drameh (hip) and Elliot Matazo (knee) remain absent.

Watford will be without Nestory Irankunda after he was red carded in their 2-0 home defeat against Swansea.

Hector Kyprianou (ankle), Mattie Pollock, Rocco Vata (hamstring), James Abankwah (muscle), Pierre Dwomoh (thigh) and Caleb Wiley (groin) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Hull host Watford at MKM Stadium on Tuesday 3 February at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Hull are winless in their last five meetings against Watford (D2, L3).
  • Watford have avoided defeat in three of their five previous trips to Hull (W2, D1, L2).
  • Hull have kept clean sheets in two of their last four home games against Watford.
  • Oli McBurnie has scored in three of Hull’s last four league matches at home (W3, L1).
  • Watford have kept a single clean sheet away from home this season, which came in a 1-0 win at Norwich in late December.

Prediction

With one defeat in their last 10 matches and clean sheets in two of their last three matches, Hull certainly have found form and will feel confident that they can get another result after they clinically scraped past Blackburn, particularly now a win here will put them two points off the summit.

Watford meanwhile are only four points off the last play-off spot and have lost manager, Javi Garcia following his exit in the wake of their wasteful defeat at home to Swansea, so this is a chance to just reset and stop their five-match winless rut in all competitions if they’re more clinical.

Hull however do have the stronger momentum despite their poor head-to-head form against Watford but on current form, I fancy them to have the edge if this isn’t a draw.

Prediction: Hull 1-1 Watford

Result: Hull 0-0 Watford
