German midfielder, Vitaly Janelt has extended his Brentford contract until June 2030.
Janelt has produced 13 goals and 16 assists in 214 appearances across all competitions since he joined the Bees from VfL Bochum in October 2020, during which he was part of their promotion-winning campaign in his first season to move up from Championship to Premier League.
“I’m delighted to get it done,” explained Head Coach, Keith Andrews on securing Janelt’s future at the club for four-and-a-half years until June 2030, although the club do hold an additional year option which could see him stay until the following summer.
Andrews proceeded to speak about Janelt’s importance to the team and believes that he will continue to be an integral part of the club.
“Vitaly is a vital cog. He’s so important to the way we play, and he’s an influential figure in the dressing room and in the club.
“He’s been an immense player for us for numerous years, so I’m really pleased to secure Vitaly’s future. He’s going to be a big player for us for many years to come.”
