2025-26 Premier League: Week 16 Roundup

Roundup of the latest Premier League action as the top three began to pull a gap on the chasing pack. 

Own goals from Sam Johnstone and Yerson Mosquera saw league leaders, Arsenal clinch a 2-1 victory at home to rock-bottom winless Wolves, despite having conceded a 90th-minute equaliser through Tolu Arokodare’s header.

Erling Haaland’s brace plus a finish from Phil Foden saw second-placed Manchester City stay two points behind with a 3-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Morgan Rogers’ brace saw third-placed Aston Villa complete a 3-2 comeback at third-bottom West Ham, after Mateus Fernandes and Jarrod Bowen twice fired the Hammers ahead either side of Konstantinos Mavropanos’ equalising own-goal.

Malo Gusto set up Cole Palmer’s opener before he finished off Pedro Neto’s cutback pass as fourth-placed Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 victory at home to Everton, which meant that the Toffees’ winless top-flight run at Stamford Bridge since November 1994 continues,

Elsewhere, Eli Junior Kroupi rescued Bournemouth a dramatic 4-4 draw at Manchester United in which Amad Diallo and Casemiro put Utd in front at half time either side of Antoine Semenyo’s equaliser, before Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier fired the Cherries 3-2 up but Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha hit back for the hosts.

Nick Woltemade thumped a 46th-minute header into his own net to hand Sunderland bragging rights over Newcastle with a 1-0 victory in the Tyne-Wear derby at the Stadium of Light.

Hugo Ekitike’s brace saw Liverpool extend their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions with a 2-0 home win over Brighton at Anfield.

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s brace and Ibrahim Sangare’s effort saw Nottingham Forest clinically thrash Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at the City Ground.

Harry Wilson set up Emile Smith Rowe and Calvin Bassey’s first-half goals as Fulham twice took the lead in a 3-2 win at second-bottom Burnley before he wrapped up the victory himself, having seen Lesley Ugochukwu equalise for the Clarets between the first two goals whilst Oliver Sonne netted a late consolatory effort.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header rescued Leeds a 1-1 draw at Brentford, having fell behind to Jordan Henderson’s first goal for the Bees.
