Red Bull and Racing Bulls have unveiled Thursday 15 January as the launch date for their 2026 Formula One cars in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Next season marks a revamp in F1 technical regulations and Red Bull will officially drive under their own Red Bull Ford powertrains for the first time, having agreed a partnership with Ford in February 2023 which will commence in 2026.

Red Bull will unveil their new livery alongside their junior team, Racing Bulls at the event on 15 January in Detroit, as Racing Bulls also prepare to run the Red Bull Ford powertrains next season.

Red Bull CEO and Team Principal, Laurent Mekies described the launch of their new powertrains as “…not only a bold step into the future, but a powerful expression of what’s possible when world-class engineering, innovation, and passion come together.”

Mekies added that the season launch event marks the end of three years of collaboration in designing and creating the powertrain, whilst 2026 will mark his first full season in charge of Red Bull following his promotion from Racing Bulls in July to replace Christian Horner.

“To see the energy, precision, and scale behind this project is inspiring. It’s the culmination of several years of collaboration between two great names in motorsport. We’re incredibly excited to begin this new chapter, driven by the same determination and excellence that defines both Ford and Red Bull.”

Mekies’ successor at Racing Bulls, Peter Bayer added that he is “incredibly excited” to see both teams launch their 2026 cars at Ford’s Headquarters, as the American motor company returns to F1 for the first time since 2004.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ford back into the world of Formula One. With over 125 years of heritage, innovation, and absolute dedication to performance, Ford embodies the same competitive spirit that drives our team. This partnership brings together global brands united by a love of racing and a commitment to pushing boundaries.”
