Nikola Tsolov has replaced Pepe Marti at Campos for the 2025 F2 double-headed season finale in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Tsolov had already been confirmed to step up to F2 with Campos for the 2026 season but the Bulgarian will now make his debut at the final two rounds of this season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, across the weekends of 28-30 November and 5-7 December respectively.

Campos Team Principal, Adrian Campos explained that this opportunity allows Tsolov a chance to acclimatise to F2 machinery with two full race weekends, ahead of a potential title tilt next season.

“For Nikola it is a magnificent opportunity to begin his acclimatization to the category and, moreover, to do so in real race conditions. We are already working to the maximum with him so that he arrives as prepared as possible at Losail, which will be his first contact with the FIA Formula 2 car.”

Tsolov added: “It’s a pleasant surprise to be able to make my debut already this year in the last two rounds of FIA Formula 2! I am very grateful to Campos Racing and Red Bull for their trust and for giving me this opportunity.

“I have worked a lot and I feel ready to take this step. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible and gaining valuable experience for 2026.”

Tsolov’s early debut was confirmed after Marti departed Campos and F2 early due to the season finale clashing with the 2025-26 Formula E season opener in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 6 December, with the Spaniard having secured a move to the latter series with Cupra Kiro,

Campos paid tribute to Marti for his efforts throughout his spell with the team over the last four seasons across Spanish F4, F3 and F2, and reflected on their success together.

“I want to thank Pepe for all these years together, since he made his debut with us in F4 Spain and later in FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2. We have had incredible experiences, a great number of victories and podiums hand in hand and, on behalf of all the members of Campos Racing, wish him all the best for the future.”
