Manchester City meet Bournemouth in a massive showdown as both teams look to cement their title challenges.
Victory would lift Man City up to second in the table above Andoni Iraola’s Cherries, whilst Bournemouth can stay second if avoid defeat – and move back to within four points of Arsenal with a win.
Team News
Erling Haaland is available for Man City after he missed their comeback 3-1 victory at Swansea in the Carabao Cup, due to a knock which he suffered in their 1-0 league loss at Aston Villa last weekend.
Rodri could also feature depending on late fitness checks after a month out with a hamstring injury.
Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-0 league win over Nottingham Forest, as Evanilson returns from a calf injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Man City host Bournemouth at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 2 November at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man City have won 15 of their 16 previous Premier League meetings against Bournemouth (W15, L1).
- Bournemouth are yet to win a Premier League game away to Man City (L8).
- Three of Man City’s eight Premier League wins at home against Bournemouth were by 4-0 results.
- Erling Haaland has scored twice in each of Man City’s last three league games at home (W3).
- Eli Kroupi has scored three goals in Bournemouth’s last two away matches (D2).
Prediction
Having produced a wasteful display in their last league outing away at Aston Villa which ended in defeat then followed that up with a comeback Carabao Cup win at Swansea, Man City really need to build on the latter because they can’t afford to drop points if want to fight for the title.
Bournemouth meanwhile could well be unlikely title challengers because they are unbeaten in their last eight league games and clinically dispatched Nottingham Forest, so confidence is high amongst the Cherries but they will need a resilient display to end their away rut in this fixture.
I however do expect a tough competitive game between both teams and although it is easy to call a home win, I do think that Bournemouth could nick a point if they bring their best game to the pitch.
Prediction: Man City 2-2 Bournemouth
Result: Man City 3-1 Bournemouth
