Roundup of a spooky Halloween round of 2025-26 Sky Bet Championship action packed with tricks and treats.

Coventry’s unbeaten start to their league campaign came to an end in a 3-2 Halloween loss at Wrexham, with Ephron Mason-Clark having put the leaders in front before Kieffer Moore’s hat-trick sealed the hosts’ comeback whilst Tatsuhiro Sakamoto netted a late consolatory effort.

Second-placed Middlesbrough suffered a surprise 3-0 loss at Watford as Imran Louza opened the scoring for the Hornets, before Luca Kjerrumgaard scored either side of half time to wrap up victory over their former boss – Rob Edwards.

Millwall missed a chance to go second after they were twice pegged back in an eventual 2-2 draw at Oxford United, having twice led through Thierno Ballo and Jake Cooper only for Cameron Brannagan and Przemyslaw Placheta to pull the Us’ level on separate occasions.

Stoke consequentially leapfrogged the Lions into third with a ruthless 5-1 win over fifth-placed Bristol City at home, as Divin Mubama netted a hat-trick whilst Million Manhoef and Junior Tchamadeu found the scoresheet.

Preston rounded out the top six on goal difference after Lewis Dobbins and Mads Frokjaer-Jensen netted late in each half of a 2-0 victory at Southampton.

Down in the relegation zone, rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday were held to a goalless draw at West Bromwich Albion.

Second-half goals from Joe Gelhardt and Darko Gyabi saw Hull claim a 2-0 victory away at second-bottom Norwich in a tense clash at Carrow Road, as the Canaries’ fans called for manager – Liam Manning to be sacked.

Callum O’Hare’s consolatory 73rd-minute goal couldn’t prevent third-bottom Sheffield United losing 3-1 at home to Derby, as Carlton Morris netted a hat-trick for the Rams.

Elsewhere, braces from George Hirst and Marcelino Nunez saw Ipswich cruise to a 4-1 victory at QPR despite Rumarn Burrell’s first-half equaliser.

Andri Gudjohnsen’s brace saw Blackburn clinch a 2-0 win at Leicester to extend the Foxes’ winless run to four matches.

Second-half goals from Tomoki Iwata, Chrisoph Klarer and Keshi Anderson saw Birmingham wrap up a 4-0 victory at home to Portsmouth, after Paik Seung-Ho headed them into a ninth-minute lead.

Adam Idah’s 20-yard finish cancelled out Charlie Kelman’s effort as Swansea fought back to draw 1-1 at Charlton.
