Bradford City manager, Michael Duff is pleased with a “good” 2-0 win over Stevenage to return to the summit of League One.

Goals from Antoni Sarcevic and Will Swan saw Bradford defeat Stevenage 2-0 at Valley Parade to claim their first win under Duff, which saw them return to the top of the third tier after Plymouth Argyle lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield at Home Park.

Speaking post match to bradfordcityafc.com about the performance, Duff felt that his team put in a solid display against their fellow losing play-off semi-finalists of last season, as he believed that the Bantams were sharper than in their 0-0 draw against Leyton Orient last weekend.

“I thought we were good. I thought we were on top against very difficult opposition.

“We were better than we were last week. We still have room for improvement, but it is the same mentality and the same resilience. There was more of a threat.

“We had a lot more bodies in the box and in better areas, which is something we have worked on. Ultimately, we did enough to see the game out relatively comfortably.”

Bradford now visit Burton Albion on Tuesday 20 October at 7:45pm BST and Duff is relieved to be going to the Pirelli Stadium with his first win as Bradford manager under his belt.

“It was a bit of relief, actually. It feels great for five minutes, then I am already thinking ahead to Burton, but that is the life of a manager.

“The defeats stay with you for a long time. With the wins, you never know where you might get the next one from.

“It is not about me. The football club has won, the supporters go home happy, and the players are happy. That will do for me.”
