2025-26 Premier League: Week Seven – Leeds vs Tottenham

Leeds United meet Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League encounter at Elland Road.

If Fulham fail to win on Friday evening, victory would lift Leeds up to seventh for at least a few hours.

Tottenham can climb to second with a win before Arsenal play West Ham in a mid-afternoon kick-off.

Team News

Leeds will be without Dan James after he suffered an ankle injury in training.

Lucas Perri (hamstring) and Wilfried Gnonto (calf) remain absent.

Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-2 draw away to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League, but could welcome Randal Kolo Muani back from a leg injury.

Yves Bissouma (unspecified), Radu Dragusin, James Maddison (both ACL), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), Kota Taki (foot) and Dominic Solanke (ankle) are ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Leeds host Tottenham at Elland Road on Saturday 4 October at 12:30pm BST, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Leeds have won just one of their last six meetings against Tottenham (W1, L5).
  • Tottenham have lost one of their last five Premier League visits to Leeds (W3, D1, L1)
  • Leeds have conceded four goals in each of their last two home matches against Tottenham (W2).
  • Pascal Struijk has played more successful short passes than any other Leeds player this season (303).
  • Mohammed Kudus has created more assists in the top flight this season than any other Tottenham player, having produced three assists in six appearances.

Prediction

Having come from behind to lead in their last two games which saw them beat Wolves then concede a late equaliser in their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, Leeds definitely have found their goalscoring feet but their defence is still vulnerable against decent attacking opposition.

Tottenham meanwhile have began to feel the effects of their recent heavy schedule in the last few weeks but there is no doubting their quality, having fought back to draw against Wolves then Bodo/Glimt in the last week so the international break can’t come soon enough.

I however do think that Tottenham will have too much quality for Leeds if can summon up more intensity than they displayed away to Bodo/Glimt in midweek, where they looked pretty lacklustre aside from their two comeback goals.

Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Tottenham

Result: Leeds 1-2 Tottenham
