Crewe Alexandra host Barnet in a huge top of Sky Bet League Two showdown.
Victory will put Crewe Alexandra third if Cheltenham fail to win at Tranmere, although a draw would be enough if Cheltenham lose their game.
Barnet can move onto the summit again with a win if Salford lose to Exeter City at the Peninsula Stadium.
Team News
Mickey Demetriou could return for Crewe after he missed their last eight matches due to a setback in his recovery from a calf injury.
Jack Lankester is still ruled out with an unspecified injury.
Barnet have no fresh injury or suspension concerns following their 3-1 comeback win over York in a rearranged midweek clash on Tuesday evening.
Isiah Noel-Williams is set to return from an one-match suspension, but Taye Ashby-Hammond (finger) remains absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Crewe Alexandra host Barnet at Mornflake Stadium on Saturday 31 October at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Crewe Alexandra are unbeaten in four of their last six meetings against Barnet (W2, D2, L2).
- Barnet have claimed just four points in eight previous EFL visits to Crewe Alexandra (W1, D1, L6).
- This is Crewe’s second meeting against Barnet to be played on Halloween, with the Railwaymen having lost 3-2 away to the Bees on this date in 1992.
- Crewe are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive defeats for the first time since April 2026.
- Three of Barnet’s last five league goals were scored by Kabongo Tshimanga.
Prediction
Coming into this crucial clash off the back of two defeats which included a lacklustre 5-1 defeat at Chesterfield who ripped them to shreds in the first half, Crewe now must reset and find a way to be much tighter but still clinical because their defence has been a weak point this season.
Barnet meanwhile hit a slight blip recently but they definitely rebounded with a clinical comeback win at home to York which has come at an ideal time, as this certainly isn’t an easy trip given their poor record at Crewe but they at least do have a stronger firepower than their hosts.
If there is one thing surely guaranteed here then it is goals but if Crewe don’t score first, I fancy Barnet to nick this such is the confidence and attacking quality within the visitors.
Prediction: Crewe Alexandra 1-2 Barnet
