Roundup of latest Premier League action prior to the first international break of the 2025-26 season.

Dominik Szoboszlai netted a 83rd-minute free-kick winner to fire Liverpool to the summit with a 1-0 home win over Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta’s Gunners slipped to third.

Joao Pedro’s header and Enzo Fernandez’s penalty saw Chelsea beat Fulham to climb to second with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, although the clash was marred by controversy after referee, Robert Jones disallowed Joshua King’s goal for the Cottagers due to a stamp from Rodrigo Muniz in the build-up.

Tottenham’s unbeaten start ended with a surprise 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth as Evanilson’s fifth-minute winner took a deflection off Cristian Romeo but Spurs rounded out the top four.

Down in the relegation zone, Hwang Hee-Chan and Rodrigo Gomes’ goals couldn’t prevent Wolves losing 2-3 at home to Everton as Beto, Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall netted for the Toffees.

Aston Villa slipped to second-bottom with a 3-0 home loss to Crystal Palace as Jean-Phillip Mateta netted a 21st minute penalty, before Marc Guehi and Ismaila Sarr wrapped up the Eagles’ victory in the second half.

Fulham sat third-bottom due to their worse goal difference than Newcastle who stayed out of the bottom three with a goalless draw at Leeds.

Elsewhere, Bruno Fernandes netted a 97th-minute winner from the penalty spot as Manchester United beat Burnley 3-2 at Old Trafford, having twice led through Josh Cullen’s own-goal and Bryan Mbeumo’s effort amidst equalisers from Lyle Foster and Jaidon Anthony.

Wilson Isidor’s 96th-minute strike secured Sunderland a 2-1 comeback win at home to Brentford, having seen Enzo Le Fee’s penalty cancel out Igor Thiago’s opening goal.

Brajan Gruda netted a 89th-minute winner to seal a comeback 2-1 victory for Brighton at home to Manchester City after James Milner’s penalty cancelled out Erling Haaland’s close-range effort.

Late goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Callum Wilson saw West Ham salvage a first win of the season with a 3-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.
