Left-back, Pervis Estupinan has departed Brighton & Hove Albion to join AC Milan in a £16.5m transfer.
Estupinan’s move sees his three-season spell at the AMEX Stadium come to an end, during which he scored five goals and contributed 14 assists in 104 appearances.
AC Milan have paid a £14.74m initial fixed fee for the 27-year-old, whilst Brighton could receive up to £1.74m in add-ons which could take the total transfer fee to £16.47m, which marks a £1.57m profit after they had signed him from Villarreal for £14.9m in July 2022.
Prior to official club confirmation of his transfer, Estupinan shared a farewell message to Brighton fans on Instagram in which he described his time at the club as “a beautiful chapter” full of “unforgettable moments” and “a privilege to wear these colours and play every matcha as if it were a final.”

Brighton Head Coach, Fabian Hurzeler added: “I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here.
“He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that. I’d like to thank Pervis for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future.”
Estupinan began his career at LDU Quito where he graduated through their youth academy to make 45 senior appearances, before he moved to Watford in July 2016 in a move which saw him make zero first-team appearances for the Hornets.
During his time at Vicarage Road, Estupinan was loaned out to Granada, Almeria, Mallorca and Osasuna, before he moved to Villarreal in September 2020, where he helped them win the UEFA Europa League in his first season with the club following victory over Manchester United on penalties in the final.
July 2022 saw Estupinan join Brighton where he was part of the side which achieved a historic first European qualification with a sixth-placed Premier League finish in 2022-23 season, of which they went on to reach the Europa League’s Round of 16 the following campaign.
