Brazil look to spark their 2026 FIFA World Cup into life in a Group C clash against Haiti.
Victory could put Brazil top if Morocco beat Scotland in the other Group C match, whilst Haiti could go as high as second with a win.
Team News
Neymar is again ruled out for Brazil as he continues his recovery from a right calf injury, which saw him miss their 1-1 draw against Morocco.
Haiti have a full squad available following their narrow defeat to Scotland.
When is Kick-Off?
Brazil meet Haiti at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, on Friday 19 June at 9pm EDT (2am BST, Saturday 20 June), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Brazil’s first World Cup meeting against Haiti.
- Haiti are yet to beat Brazil in all competitions (L3), during which they have scored one goal and conceded 7 goals in three previous meetings.
- Douglas Santos won more tackles against Morocco than any other Brazil player – having won five of his seven tackles.
- Nine of Haiti’s 15 shots against Scotland were produced by Jean Ricner-Bellegarde, Frantzdy Pierrot and Ruben Providence who created three shots each.
Prediction
Having been frustrated by Morocco despite large periods of dominance, Brazil now must reset and view this as an absolute must win because they can’t afford a shock defeat although a draw would leave them needing something against Scotland.
Haiti though might be minnows in this group but they showed Scotland that they were no pushovers despite lacked that clinical touch to snatch a draw, so I hope that they can find a way to bring more of the same and trouble Brazil’s defence like Morocco did when they were on top.
I however do think that Brazil’s superior quality will eventually tell but don’t write off Haiti.
Prediction: Brazil 2-1 Haiti
